What is Inclusive Dance?

Inclusive dance activities are designed to meet the needs of everyone in the class, regardless of ability or disability, with a focus on exploring and developing individual creativity and physical potential.

The videos on this page have been created to help parents/carers and disabled children and young people to understand a little bit more about what happens in an inclusive dance class.

If you have any questions about inclusive dance, please get in touch with one of the Linked organisations via the details on the Contact Us page on this website.

Parent and Carer Interviews

We asked three parents of disabled children and young people who come to inclusive dance classes, three questions to find out more about their experiences:

What is special about the dance classes for your child?

What difference does coming to the classes make to your child?

What would you to say to any parent thinking of bringing their disabled child to a dance class but who is nervous about whether it is right for them?

Watch the videos to find out what they said.
